NATIONAL CHILD PROTECTION WEEK

29 May 2022 to 5 June 2022

As we observe the National Child Protection week, the Executive Mayor,
Cllr. C.N Nkalitshana wishes to call on the community of Emalahleni Local Municipality and all Social partners to unite because it is in our hands to stop the scourge of human trafficking where children are kept in brothels or become victims of ritual killings. We must break the cycle of child abuse, exploitation, neglect aggravated by negative Socio-Economic indicators (thousands of children go to bed without food and proper medical care).

Ubuntu enjoins us to protect and prioritise the most vulnerable sectors of the society including children with disability, albinism and chronic diseases.

ACTION
LET US ALL:

  • Teach children their rights
  • Pray Together
  • Get talking to educate and raise awareness through different social media platforms
  • Play our part to identify a child who needs assistance
  • Use the national toll-free numbers to call child line SA:
0800 055 555
TOGETHER LET’S BUILD A BETTER EMALAHLENI COMMUNITY
